Smoke running along your slice outlines in Resolume — 12 smoke types, Show/Burst, alpha output, light on the GPU.

404 SMOKE is a Wire effect for Resolume Arena/Avenue that builds smoke, fog and steam hugging the outline of every slice you drop in. Drop slices into "Slices In", pick a smoke type, colour and direction — the smoke follows your LED screens, mapping or stage shapes.

The output carries alpha, so the content underneath a group, layer or clip stays intact. Built for real shows: near-zero GPU when hidden, and while running it only recomputes the outline when a slice changes, so the FPS stays stable even on very large LED comps (tested on a 9000×2250 comp).

Features

  • 12 smoke types: Soft Smoke, Thick Smoke, Ground Fog, Wisps, Steam, CO2 Jets, Dark Smoke, Neon Mist, Smoke Puffs, Swirling Smoke, Haze Glow, Smoke Trail
  • Colour: ready-made palettes or a custom colour; control direction, height, puff size, density, turbulence, wind
  • SHOW: Always On, or a Show/Burst button (Burn Along Edge, Fade/Grow, Chase, BPM-synced Chase)
  • BURST: a quick press puffs then dissipates; hold for a continuous stream; "Burst Only" stays hidden until pressed
  • EDGES: each slice, merged slices, Layer Alpha, Frame Edge; Edge Offset, Thickness, Show Area (inside/outside)
  • OUTPUT: Smoke Alpha, Over Input, Smoke on Black, Smoke Only; Quality Low→Full; Glow
  • Alpha output keeps the visuals below intact on a group/layer/clip

  • Internet once to activate the key (shows run offline); the demo edition always shows a TRIAL watermark
